Looking ahead to explore new possibilities to automate some process with the pipe network I realized a specific corridor, only between the structures, with the housing pipe adaptable to various diameter, afterwards the pipe network trench was created automatically. Finally the fill material for the stuctures holes.
Share and manage these different types of data using Civl 3d, Map 3D and Dynamo. Using the classic commands combined with the DYN scripts allows us to obtain the geometry and GIS data in C3D, then create a new GIS data file and check if it is correct.
If you need to import in Revit a surface from C3D with same precision (without an arbitrary strange Revit triangulation) you can follow this alternative method.
Generally it is very accurate, sometimes there are only a small points to be repositioned.
This time the target is to rebuild automatically a whole pipe network, to do this is most important how get the data on field and afterwards manage it to achieve a good rebuilding of the network As Is.
Third script to development of procedures for the pipe network management on Civil 3D (these are the previous ones, Interactive pipe network and Align Rectangular Structures).
This time the script allows us to swap many parts, pipes or structures, in the same time.
How the previous scripts we can use this script on pipe networks previously created.
After my recently dynamo script “Pipe Network Interactive” I created a new script to continue with the development of procedures for the pipe network management.
In this case we can align the rectangular structures along the pipe network line path after its creation.
We can do this procedure also inside our old models for a review.

I maked improvements my previous custom assembly Precast Tunnel with Segments , now the corridor is created with just one assembly without external procedure and also I added some controls for a better and large use.
Below the improvements and the controls added:
- Width segments parameter,
- Thickness segments parameter,
- External radius parameter.
- Chamfer segments parameter,
- Overwrite general angle parameter,
- Overwrite position of the rings angle,
- Coding of each individual segment.
Many times we think that make something (like the one in the title) it is many complicated. In this situations it is better stop, analize what is the final result you want get, then creating an inverse path that allows an analysis from a different point of view.
